We went out on our first full day in Chiang Mai and the streets were full of people and flower petals.
The Buddist monks were moving an ancient relic to Chiang Mai. Apparently they walk along the petals as they move the sacred relic.
We didn't see them actually move it, but it must have been happening soon. The monks were getting ready.
It went on for about 3 miles. It was a lovely sight.
We went up to the mountains with our first stop at the king's palace at Chiang Mai. A little underwhelming, but the grounds were beautiful.
Richard liked wearing the pants they provided.
We then went to the temple at Doi Su Thep. It was beautiful!
But lots of steps. The kids were not thrilled.
We bribed them with promises of ice cre at the top. And we also had to bribe them to take this picture with these cute girls.
300 steps later. And still moderately cheerful!
Calvin is even smiling. Very impressive.
The temple grounds were beautiful. It was very hot though!
We tried to keep Henry in the shade. He was getting pink!

We had to get a picture of me and Richard. It was our ninth anniversary after all!
The kids were very popular every where we went. Baby Henry always made people laugh and smile. We all got used to hearing the Thai word "doll". He is our little doll.
I just liked this little elephant.
After ice cream, we walked down the stairs. I didn't post the pictures of the kids pouting on the way down.
After that, we went to Tiger Kingdom. I'll post later about that. The pictures aren't on my phone. There was a fish pond outside Tiger Kjngdom where the kids fed some fish.
We finished the long day with more shopping at the night bazaar. And we took pictures of the kids in traditional Thai dress. It was a fun and busy day.
