Awesome by Association

I've said it before, and I'm sure I will say it again: I know some really amazing people. I've got the most talented and interesting group of friends around. I'm pretty sure of it. It makes me awesome by association. I may not be doing anything really great, but you better believe that I'm going to boast about other people I know who are doing amazing stuff.

In our latest edition of "Awesome by Association," we will be highlighting my former boss from USC, Elizabeth Garrett. She was just nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy. You can read about it here and here.

It was a pleasure to work for Beth, who is the most hard-working, brilliant, kind and decisive people I know. She expected a lot from her employees, but inspired everyone to give 100% all the time by her kindness and good humor. She is also just brilliant. She understands the small details of issues, but puts them effectively in the context of larger problems. She is amazing at explaining complex issues in a way that everyone can understand. I'm thrilled with the nomination and can't wait to read about all incredible things she accomplishes in D.C.
